Gails' Garden- silk ribbon embroidered and ribbon worked Wall Hanging

This wall hanging was made for my friend Gail. The base is crazy pieced with silk, cotton and vintage obi fabrics. Each of the sections is stitched with embroidery stitches using pearl cotton, Wildflowers cotton thread or silk thread combined with 4mm or 7mm silk embroidery ribbon. Stitched ribbon work flowers are liberally sprinkled throughout and are made from satin, silk bias, cotton, ombre, grosgrain and novelty ribbons.
