Elegant Additions

This is truly and elegant wall hanging, one of my favorites! I designed each panel with a different motif incorporating silk ribbon for embroidery and silk ribbonworked flowers and leaves in the design.

Each motif uses and interesting piece such as the jacquard ribbon used for the basket in row 2 (right column); or the vintage piece of cotton handkerchief used for the basket in row 3 (middle column); or the vintage laces used in row 1 (middle coloumn), row 2 (left and middle coloumn), row 3 (right column).

Three sizes of silk ribbon were used in embroidery: 2mm, 4mm, and 7mm; two sizes of Hanah silk bias ribbon were used: 7/16" and 5/8"; 10mm ombre ribbon and 5mm ombre ribbon were used for flowers and leaves; silk roco trim was used for embellishments; several colors of Caron Collections "Wildflowers" were used; several colors of buttonhole twist were used; various vintage Mother of Pearl and glass buttons were used as well as glass and metal charms.
