This mask was made for my Renaissance Faire costume. One day on our walk, I found the top piece which is a tree root that looked like a figure 8. I attached this to a branch from the same tree.
I painted the wood a soft antique gold color, then I wrapped it in a pretty ombre ribbon of chestnut and sage, and a vintage chocolate colored velvet ribbon.
I was given the pheasant feather piece that was from a vintage hat, this I placed to the side of the right eye. I made ribbon flowers and leaves from both Hanah silk bias ribbon and French wire ribbon. I attached the vintage glass and rayon stem milliner's floral spray to the top of the handle.
One tassel is a vintage metallic gold, made from fine threads. The other tassels is made from novelty yarns.
