This purse is bead embroidered using free form peyote stitches, stitched into the fabric. This is a technique that I have developed to incorporate my two favorite things: beads and free form peyote.
The bag includes vintage and new glass beads: size 15, 11, 8, and 6 seed beads; bugle beads; glass novelty beads and charms; and vintage buttons.
The fabric is a Bali Batik by Hoffman Fabrics, it is quilted before the stitching to add stability for the beading. The cord handle is Hanah Silk bias ribbon cord, and it is beaded in place with size 15 seed beads. |
