Maria and Glory are both made from my Second Hand Rose pattern, Glory (14" tall) the original size, and Maria (18" tall) made from a larger version. Thier faces are hand- painted with permanent pen detailing.
Maria's body is made from muslin and cotton prints. Her skirt is trimmed with ruffle that is the same print as her sleeves, a fabric that I have used for many projects and a favorite because of the small print! Her cape is made from a vintage lace cuff, her sleeves and stockings are made from a lace trim. Her dress, hair, sleeves and legs are trimmed in satin ribbon. Her collar and corsage are made from a cotton jacquard ribbon. Her hair is made from a variety of novelty and metallic yarns. Her satin shoes and dress are adorned with ribbon flowers.
Glory was made from a grab bag purchased at a "White Elephant Sale" at the doll club that I belonged to. Her body is made from muslin and cotton prints. Her sleeves and and part of her skirt are made from a silk tie. Her collar is made from a silk cuff, her shawl from a lace cuff which also trims the bottom of her skirt. Her hair is made from a variety of novelty and metallic yarns, trimmed with metallic stars. Satin, metallic and sequin trims are used to bring her to an embellished, glorious state!
