Cloth Art Doll made by Christen Brown

Beatrice was named after my good friend Betty Micheels. She and I had a wonderful friendship based on the love of beautiful fabrics and exotic trims. We spent one wild week in Paducah, Kentucky at the AQS show over 15 years ago, which I will never forget!

Beatrice's body is made from vintage kimono fabrics that I picked up at another quilt show, and the metallic lace trim was given to me by Betty.

The pattern I designed was called the "Golden Girls" and body shape for this doll was designed after the Russian stacking dolls, which is a fun shape to work with. She is 13" tall. Her face is hand- painted with permanent pen detailing.

To finish off her boa, wrist and shoes I have added bits of rhinestone buttons and trim, because every girl knows a little bling can make you feel good!
