When I see a group of fruit it is hard for me not to think of Carmen Miranda, or Lucy playing her on the "I Love Lucy" show.
I started collecting vintage jewelry to accessorize the garments for both two of my lectures, "Vintage Redressed" and "The Glamour Of It ALL".
This ensemble started with a necklace strung with paper mâche fruit. It was strung with white seed beads. I took the necklace apart and added vintage red glass beads and green rondelles from another necklace.
The left-over pieces of fruit I attached to a vintage chain bracelet. The second bracelet is comprised of all blown glass fruit.
The earrings are made from a pair of vintage earring findings, and I added in the vintage paper mâche bananas and new paper mâche chile peppers. |
